Tala chuckled a little to herself as she narrowly missed Tetzou, but ti soon came back to bite her as he swung over her, elbowing her in the back of her knees and causing her to fall forwards, to a kneeling position on the ground, supported by bother her hands and knees. She arched a brow, a little wide eyed at having suddenly been knocked down, she saw him grinning and returned it, giving a bit of a wink before pushing herself to her feet and dusting off her hands.
The training continued, with Tala repeating the same tedious motions of her foot, tapping it again and again, launching herself at Tetzou and trying to achieve a full Soru. When she did finally manage it, as Tetzou launched what looked like it would be a painful attack, she dodged it, rather than wasting energy (or messing up her clothes) trying to block it.
"Yes~" Tala beamed as she was told that she had managed to successfully learn the Soru technique, she took a moment to tackle-glomp him in a hug, where she nuzzled into his chest for a moment, before practically launching off of him and just sort of skipping around the boat. As per usual, she was pretty energetic, though she felt like her ankles were going to roll off if she had to tap her foot even one more time.
"Yes, please, one can't live off of meat alone," she pointed out, grinning a little to herself as she crossed her arms over her chest, watching as Tetzou cut away a couple pieces of the seaking before disappearing into the ship. She took this time to check their course, drawing out a map from her possessions and observing it seriously, she sat herself down at a small table, charting their course with relative ease, regarding the compass occasionally as she went.
Before long, or before she realized how much time had passed, Tetzou came out with food, and she set all of her things aside, having finished charting, she had merely been observing different places on the map. She inhaled deeply as he set a plate down for her, "smells good," she informed him, watching with a chuckle as he fed her a bite, she smiled at him, "and it tastes great, as usual," she assured, leaning towards him and planting a soft kiss on his cheek, before taking her fork, "to me, no one cooks better than you," she then went on to say, and she truly meant it, as she extended a hand to gently pet his knee.

He grinned as she complemented his food and commented about veggies, "Indeed ... don't want scurvy." He chuckled softly before he leaned back and ate, scooting around and kissing her deeply before his arms tangled around her and slid her into his lap as they ate with a chuckle resting is cheek on her shoulder gently. "Hmm ... so how far until we reach the st Blue babe ...?" He asked curiously before he reached down and grasped at the nearby plate with a grunt and slid it into the cabin, he'd clean it later. His lazy side coming out as he grinned and then glanced over at the ocean and blinked a moment slowly, something seemed ... off to say the least, it was never this dull on the sea, well, not with them anyway. He grunted before he spun and snuggled her as he just thought for a bit as she ate and then gave her a kiss to her cheek. "Hmm ... I feel off. I can't even sense anything." he muttered into her ear as he held her leaning back lazily against the ships side.
He sighed a bit and crossed his arms over his chest slowly as he reached over and stole her chopsticks, popping her last bit of fish into her mouth for her with a grin. He then gently handed her them back, before he hopped up wit her and took her plate with a grin, he always did spoil her after all. He gently set the pale inside the cabin on top of his own setting them in the sink before he eyed the nearby window and sea, why was it so damn quiet ... there was always life, but he couldn't sense anything, no fish, no starfish, no snails ... it was just water and sand out there. Why? He sighed a bit and slowly leapt out landing on the deck and walking toward the edge of the ship before he leaned over and sniffed the water and blinked ... slowly he dipped his hand inside and cursed yanking his hand back as smoke sizzled from it. "Sulphuric acid ..." He muttered, this was an acid that only ate organic material ... which was why the ship was safe and there was no life here, his eyes narrowed.
His eyes settled on the sea line, "What the hell causes this much water to be infested with Sulphuric acid ...?" He muttered before he blinked and got his answer as they broke a wave ... and there was a massive newly-forming volcano, the water beginning to steam around them from the heat. "... A new Islands forming?" He muttered with a blink, they were between the east adn west blue ... so near the epicenter ... but why would a island suddenly begin forming here of all places? That did explain the acid though ... but ... why? ... His eyes narrowed and he changed the course heading toward the island. "Don't touch the water babe ..." He called to her with a frown as they headed toward the island.

Tala smiled somewhat absently as she was kissed, allowing her nose to nuzzle his gently for a few moments, she was only too happy to be pulled into his lap once more, she continued to eat as he lay his head on her shoulder. He did things that were oddly cute for a man his size, sometimes, or perhaps she was merely biased. Either way, she continued to smile a moment before chuckling at his words, "we just left, dear, we've gone quite a ways yet," she assured before taking another bite of her food. She blinked a bit as she was spun on his lap and snuggled, enjoying his affections as she always did.
"Oh?" She asked, raising her head a little to look around at his words, though she obviously couldn't see much from where she was sitting, "the weather seems fine," she murmured, thoughtfully continuing to feed herself - at least until he took her chopsticks and fed the remainder of her food to her. The brunette purred a little as she was lifted with him, and the smirked a little as he took her plate in for her. She then merely watched him as he moved around, clearly very idle and a little concerned about what was going on. Tala rubbed at her jaw a little, watching as he smelled at the water and dipped a hand it - only for it to sizzle and burn slightly.
"Well, dear, generally if something seems wrong you shouldn't just stick your hand in," she laughed a little, because even after all their years together he was still rather impulsive at times. "Well, no worries, I've no intention of touching it after watching you burn yourself," she pointed out, then turned her head a bit - just in time to catch sight of a huge volcano. She blinked a bit, somewhat stupidly, and headed towards the railing at the front of the ship to get a better look at it.
"That's not on any of my maps..." She murmured, raising a hand to scratch lightly at her head as she did so.

He muttered a bit, "Hush ... I test things by touch not my eyes." He grinned at her, before his gaze fell on the island with a slow frown and he sighed. "This is ganna be a pain in the ass isn't it ..." He muttered as he steered them forward. Slowly he rubbed at the back of his neck before he reached down and grasped the nearby railing. As they were about to hit the island he spun the ship, and ported nearby ... slowly he eyes the lava that was still cooling and simply took in a deep breath, before expelling a huge wave of air from his mouth, pulling a whtiebeard as the magma rapidly cooled ... still warm but no longer white hot. He nodded a bit, leaping down and stretching with a yawn as he scratched his chin curiously and looked up. "Come on babe, we gatta examine the area or we'll get an ear full back at base." he chuckled before he would catch her when she jumped, carrying her off boredly heading toward the more solid area of the island and he gently set her down, curious as to what had caused the sudden tectonic movement that created the island itself and caused it to form.
He nodded, "It wont be on your maps sweetheart ... its new formed ..." He stomped the ground a few times and listened to the shaking. "Mmn ... probably about five days old at the most." He frowned and tapped his lip thinking for a moment. He sighed, she was a navigator not a fieldsman ... so eh supposed he should explain. "Volcanic islands form from upwelling magma which builds up from sea floor eruptions until the surface of the ocean is eventually breached. The islands can source their magma from an arc-related source, which is associated with subduction zones, or a hotspot source, where a convection cell in the upper mantle causes melting of the lower crust and intense heating of a local area of the fluid upper mantle and results in magma moving upward through the crust to erupt at surface. For a volcanic island to form it is essential that the source of magma is sufficient to allow for the construction of the lava and fragmental volcanic mountain. This is known as a seamount. When it reaches the ocean depth where currents and wave activity are active, there must be sufficient lava expelled to armor the volcano against erosion - otherwise it won't survive and will be washed away. Large volumes of lava and ash will eventually allow the volcano to breach the ocean surface and form a volcanic island." he nodded a bit .. he thought that was about all there was to it.
He frowned and kicked the ground again, "Problem is this one formed from the first ... so that means something shifted around the plates underneath the seafloor, and it caused a new volcano to form. But ... what the hell could force that?" Of course, nether of them knew of Tsukai yet, and they wouldn't until they reached base. He sighed, "Guess we should setup a perimeter to keep civilians off ... don't want anyone out here to die because they didn't know about the acid or the explosions." he turned, heading tword the ship eying the volcano warily.

"Yes, I know you like to touch things," she quietly assured, after having given a bit of a chuckle. She looked to him, watching with interested as he inhaled deeply, then exhaled onto the magma and cooled it off something. She laughed a little at this as well, clearly entertaining some thought or another as she watched him. He then leaped down to the ground, and when he was ready to catch her she easily followed, landing in his arms gently, she lightly kicked her legs idly as he carried her along - though she obviously didn't mind the treatment, as she was not struggling to escape or even seeming bothered by being toted around as such. "I've read about things like this before, but I was somewhat skeptic as to whether or not they actually happened," she admitted, licking her lips softly as she was set on her own two feet.
"Ah, yeah, I know, I just thought that maybe it had been an underwater volcano or something, and someone would have written 'big damn volcano underwater, right here,' so that people wouldn't drift over it or something," she gave a bit of a weak shrug as she rambled, then fell quiet long enough to hear his explanation, which she appeared to only half pay attention too, as she was examining the area, her bright blue eyes dancing wildly. A sudden realization had dawned on her, and she was practically bouncing around like an energetic bunny as she waited for him to finish speaking. "No matter how it formed, since it's so new, I will probably be the first person to map it out, right?" She asked, clearly very excited about this little fact, her eyes were even sparkling as she spoke, "I'm kind of excited now, but just a little bit~" she went on to say in a singsong voice, which made it perfectly clear that she was more than a little excited.
His words gave her pause, though, and she tilted her head a bit, pondering what he had asked. "Maybe a couple of the Yonko got into a fight? Hard to say, really..." She murmured, dimming only for a moment, she began to skip after Tetzou - though she was not after anything to set up a perimeter, rather she wanted to get her mapping equipment.
